Puigcerdà, founded in 1.177, is the capital of Cerdanya.

The village of Puigcerdà has been transformed along the years resulting in a city with a peculiar appearence: constructed on a mount, it presents to the west a noticeable unevenness between the old town and te neighborhood of the station, in contrast to the east side which presents a huge plateau.

The Old Town has an special attractive, combining its medial configuration of narrow and irregular streets with an important tourist activity.

The most famous element in Puigcerdà is his artificial pond, surrounded by a modernist group of the first part of the century and the Schierbeck Park, where it is possible to enjoy the nature and the landscape.

On the other hand, Puigcerdà offers the possibility to do some leisure activities, like visiting the Cerdà Museum or practising some sports in its sport center, with its Ice Palace and tennis courts.
